Machine Washable wool

The problem of wool shrinkage is caused by the scales on the fiber. During washing, the wool fibers swell after soaking up water and the raised scales of the cuticle layer of the fiber entangle with one another to result in felting, which seems like shrinking. To prevent wool from felting, lasting shrink-proofing treatment can be applied to wool, with the end result being wool that endures washing and wearing while maintaining good flexibility and low pilling.
